"Today's dollar stores are generally neater, better organized and offer products equal to those found in regular stores, but at a fraction of the cost." Donna is so right. Some dollar stores are amazing. It's like wandering around a department store and everything has been put on sale... BIG TIME. But, all dollar stores are not created equal. You have to search them out and then when you find a GREAT one... visit often. The deals can be amazing! For example, I wanted to find tiny bowls for placing butter on the table when we have company. I found three tiny ceramic bowls for $1.50 and I have already found more uses for them. I plan to check out other serving dishes because a pretty table doesn't have to cost the earth. And another thing. At these prices, you don't have to wait until you have company to use them! Pamper yourself and your family by setting a gorgeous table just for the fun of it!

Saving Money on the Weekend
Image via Wikipedia
Actually yesterday was my "bliss day." It's the day when I go out with my daughter for lunch and then the mall (with a list btw). Well, we did things a little different yesterday. We had lunch (we trade weeks for paying and then we went to a park for the afternoon. It was gorgeous and it didn't cost us a cent. So, I guess my message today is to find things that you can enjoy doing that won't necessarily cost you a ton. Surprisingly enough (even to me) I can go out and have a good time without shopping!

The Chic & Green Blog: DIY Wednesday: Luxury Milk Bath
I have heard of using powdered milk for these preparations, but Chic & Green takes it in a different direction. Love the rose petals peeking through the milk!
